The algebraic properties of the 2-dimensional (0,1)-RLL channels

We first discuss the recurrence relation of transfer matrix T/sub m/ of the 2-dimensional (1,/spl infin/)-constrained and symmetric permutation matrix P/sub m/ such that T/sub m//sup n/P/sub m/=P/sub m/T/sub m//sup n/ (m,n=1, 2,...). Then the number of 2-dimensional valid arrays are shown to satisfy a linear recurrence relation with a finite order, approximately equal to dim(T/sub m/)/2 for large m.
