Surface distribution of crackling sounds

It is widely known that the acoustical characteristics of adventitious lung sounds change considerably when the point of auscultation is changed. Some preliminary results of an experimental investigation of the surface distribution of crackles on the chest wall of patients are presented. Three microphones are used simultaneously, arranged in three different subsequent configurations. A method for describing the pattern of crackle distribution objectively is suggested.<
