Computation of electromagnetic switching transients in a substation

A computer program that calculates the electromagnetic radiation produced by switching transients within a high voltage substation is described. Sections of the substation circuit are assumed to act as antennae over a perfect ground plane. This should give a worst case estimation of the field amplitudes within the confines of a substation. These results may be used for electromagnetic compatibility studies.<
