Including ITS in microsimulation models

Paramics, a transport planning microsimulation package has been extended to include an advanced control interface based on SNMP - simple network management protocol. The interface enables the inclusion of external ITS control devices within a traffic simulation. This paper describes the interface and the test scenarios to which it has been applied.
