Novel layer peeling algorithm for the synthesis of fiber Bragg gratings yielding smoother fabrication profiles

We propose a new layer peeling method for the synthesis of FBG devices based on the reconstruction of the FBG by means of a series of layers with constant refractive indexes instead of using a series of distributed feedback reflectors. Smoother fabrication profiles are obtained.
