Green's functional approach to resonant cavity analysis

A new method for obtaining the propagation characteristics of resonant laser cavities is presented. Resonance wavelengths and threshold gains can be obtained for structures containing an arbitrary complex index of refraction profile. The method is based on determining the poles of the Green's function of the system, which is computed using an exact integral formalism.<
