Mode numbers for kaleidoscopical resonators

Kaleidoscopic domain is associated with the solution of Maxwell equations as superposition of partial plane waves. Such solutions are used in studies of the diffraction phenomena in kaleidoscopic structures, mode fields and selective properties of waveguides and resonators. The results make it possible to forecast the variations in resonance properties of resonators when their form and dielectric permeability of the medium are changed. A method of partial plane waves enables generalization and may be used to study the selective properties of resonators when the resonators have combined external media, metal-dielectric coatings and other structural elements.
