Macroscopic analysis of effect of information communication sector on CO/sub 2/ emission reduction

The impact of the information communications sector on the CO/sub 2/ emission was analyzed using the relationship between the production function and the information communications capital stock. It was clarified that CO/sub 2/ reduction by the ICT in 2000 was about 18 million tons, which corresponds to about 1.5% of the total CO/sub 2/ emission in Japan.
