Reconfigurable wireless networks (RWN): making mobiles more intelligent

Summary form only given, as follows. Today our majority of communication is based on wireless networks. The ease of using wireless devices is making them quite popular. One main limitation in wireless devices is that they are designed for specific frequency and does not work outside that range. So what will happen if a user whose mobile has been designed to work in a certain set of frequencies takes it to another region where a different set is implemented; obviously the mobile won't work. This is a major flaw in the current design making the user's mobile unusable in that region. The solution to this problem is a Reconfigurable Wireless Network (RWN). In this paper, we will discuss a reconfigurable mobile system that changes its frequency set accordingly. In the paper, we will present different possible solutions and then conclude with the most efficient one that will be used for modulation and demodulation of the base band signal and configure itself according to the environmental conditions.
