The pressure effect of pulse explosion of steel wire in water

In this paper, an experimental model to test the pressure effect of pulse explosion of steel wire in water is proposed. In the experiment, some steel wire segments with different diameter from 0.5 mm to 0.8 mm and the same length of 37 mm are used as exploding wire. A high dynamic response pressure sensor located proper distance to explosion source is used to measure the shock wave pressure. The experimental results show that the pressure at sensor location increases with the energy poured into the load and decreases with the distance from the sensor to explosion source.
