Impact of noise on amplitude-phase measurement precision and improvement of microwave receiver

This paper aims at the analysis and improvement of amplitude-phase measurement precision, on the basis of the signal model accompanied by additive noise and its classical probability density functions. In the presence of narrowband Gaussian noise, the relationship between measurement precision and output signal-to-noise ratio is discussed and analyzed in detail. The work presented in this paper includes an improved microwave-millimeter wave receiver, characterized. by DSBSC and low-IF quadrature demodulation. Its high precision and some other advantages have been proved by practical tests.
