Life management of transformers in Japan-Japanese practices of maintenance and refurbishment

In the environment of low load growth of electricity and electric market liberalization, Japanese electric utilities have to extend their substation equipment life span. This paper shows the maintenance and refurbishment practices of high voltage oil immersed transformers in Japan.
