The photoconductive envelope detector

THIS PAPER will offer an analytical study of the limit on S/N for a broad-band envelope detector made of a small energy gap semiconductor in a microwave cavity. A representative photoconductive demodulator is shown in Figure 1 (1), the schematic of a reflection cavity coupled to a microwave input and output by a circulator.
