Super saturated transistor switches

A SIMPLE TRANSISTOR SWITCHING CIRCUIT is shown in figure 1(1). The switch is OFF when Vb is negative, [i.e. of opposite polarity to that shown in Figure 1(1)], and ON when Vb is positive and of sufficient magnitude for (Vb/Rb) to provide a saturating level of base current for the transistor.
