Wideband transistor distributed amplifiers

FOR WINDEBAND DISTRIBUTED AMPLIFIERS the natural tendency would be to utilize the grounded-base configuration because of its high cut-off frequency. However, the low input impedance would place severe limitation on the impedance level of the input line. A somewhat higher input impedance can be obtained in the grounded-emitter circuit, but the bandwidth of this configuration is greatly reduced. Bruun has indicated a possible solution with RC emitter degeneration; see Figure 2.
