RACE BLNT: a technology solution for the broadband local network

The RACE BLNT (Broadband Local Network Technology) R1012 project is described from the early work where overall architectural decisions were made through to details of the experimental demonstrators that are under development. The project is concentrating on developing the technology that will provide the performance within the local loop and switch, but at the lowest feasible cost. Both the customer access connection and switch architectures are described.<
