A Review of High-voltage High-Step Down Topologies for Intermediate Bus Converter Applications

In this paper, various isolated topologies with high buck ratio, suitable for High Voltage (HV) power electronics systems are reviewed. A brief comparative analysis is carried out in terms of important performance indices, such as soft switching, component count, control algorithm, etc. From the analysis, a topology is chosen which is most suitable solution for HV power electronics systems. The steady-state and dynamic characterization of the converter are presented. A STM32H563ZIT6U microcontroller is used to implement the voltage mode feedback control. The topology is verified using a lab scale prototype with 1.2 kW rating and 1000-1600 V input supply and 24 V regulated output.
