Development of a Monitoring System for the Cooling Water Experimental Platform of the China Spallation Neutron Source

To ensure the long-term stability and operational safety of the cooling water experimental platform at the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS), this study designs and develops a highly integrated monitoring system. By deploying high-precision sensors for pressure, flow, temperature, and vibration, the system enables real-time monitoring of critical parameters across the main circulation loop, purification loop, and experimental loop. This comprehensive monitoring framework ensures timely detection of anomalies and supports data-driven decision-making for system maintenance and optimization. Since its deployment, the system has provided robust technical support for the successful execution of key experiments, including target flushing and corrosion studies. The implementation of this monitoring system significantly enhances the intelligence and automation level of the platform's operation and maintenance processes. Moreover, the design and application approach of this system offers a transferable and scalable reference solution for state perception and health management of water cooling systems in other large-scale scientific research facilities. In addition, the modular architecture of the system allows for future functional expansion and integration with digital twin platforms. This research serves as a practical example of how intelligent sensing and system integration can contribute to the safety and efficiency of complex experimental infrastructures.
