Design, Modelling and Simulation of a UAVMounted Gun Platform

This research endeavours to present a methodology to design a UAV-Mounted Gun Platform that meets specified flight requirements. The aim is to comprehensively understand, and model all forces and interactions involved, culminating in a simulation capable of providing reliable results. The overarching goal is to establish a systematic design methodology that may be integrated into UCAV design processes especially when the weapon data to design the UAV is not available. This work encompasses the following sectors: selection of appropriate UAV configuration and recoil handling mechanism, analysis of gun operation using computational ballistics methods, modelling of recoilless guns and flight dynamics simulation of proposed design in various operational requirements. This work aims to contribute to the development of adaptable UCAV platforms capable of integrating diverse weapon systems with minimal redesign effort.
