GPS-based Tractor Tracking and Monitoring System

In modern agriculture, where operational efficiency is a key concern, real-time tracking of farm machinery is critical, particularly on expansive agricultural operations. Traditional tractor monitoring often depends on manual supervision, resulting in inefficiencies, high labour costs and avoiding unauthorised use. To address these challenges a system is developed to monitor the tractor activities with IOT integration. This project is developed to track tractors via GPS satellite technology. The primary objective of this paper is to enhance tractor monitoring capabilities and reduce the necessity for constant human oversight. The project integrates a microcontroller that collects data from a GPS, which determines the tractor’s location, a fuel sensor, which monitors fuel consumption and also indicates the engine’s operational status. This comprehensive information is then transmitted to a web-based platform, accessible from any internet-connected device. The system offers real-time updates and historical data storage capabilities. The entire system is designed for costeffectiveness and adaptability to varied field conditions. This project promises significant benefits for farmers and farm managers alike. It aims to save time, reduce manual effort, and ultimately, boost productivity in contemporary farming practices.
