Calibration Method for Improving Accuracy and Dynamic Range in Complex-Ratio Measurement

This paper presents a novel hardware mismatch calibration method to improve complex-ratio measurement accuracy and dynamic range between two radio frequency (RF) signals. The receiver alternately selects two RF signals, generating harmonics related to their complex ratio, which is determined via spectral analysis. Calibration of the channel imbalance is required to obtain the transmission coefficient of the component under test. Accounting for the limited isolation of the single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch during calibration reduces measurement errors and enhances accuracy and dynamic range at limited isolation of the SPDT switch. The measured results match those from the vector network analyzer (VNA), validating the effectiveness of the proposed method.
