Flexible Beamforming Design of Array Fed Reflector Antennas Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

Array fed reflector antennas are a popular solution for fully flexible multi-beam antennas. This paper validates three typical scenarios of fully flexible beam coverage for array fed reflector antennas using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. The configuration and results of the optimization design are presented. The edge gain of the 0.5° beamwidth exceeds 43.3 dBi, and that of the 2° beamwidth exceeds 35.0 dBi. The shaped beams match the designated service area shapes, and the energy distribution within the service area is relatively uniform.
