A Self-Calibration Algorithm Based on Joint Parameter Estimation of Polarization Sensitive Array

This paper examines the target localization problem with gain-phase errors, utilizing a uniform linear polarization sensitive array. An algorithm is proposed to address the problem with closed-form solution of source parameters. Firstly, received data is divided into different subsets according to polarized sub-array. After obtaining the covariance matrix , a selection matrix is used to obtain the rotational invariance factor, which leads to the DOA and polarization estimation. Finally, gain-phase errors matrix is derived accordingly. In comparison to conventional self-calibration approaches, this method requires no iterative computation and has lower computation complexity. The algorithm is insensitive to the positional errors of the array elements. The simulation experiments validate both the efficacy and superiority of the presented approach.
