Human-Centric Lighting System with AI-Based Object Tracking

This paper presents the concept and implementation of an intelligent, modular lighting system designed to dynamically adapt to indoor environments. The system integrates computer vision object detection with Human-Centric Lighting (HCL) principles to create biologically oriented and user-responsive lighting. Each lighting module is equipped with Red-Green-Blue-White (RGBW) control and mechanical adjustment capabilities. This allows real-time beam steering and spectral modulation. The people detection is provided by a framework You Only Look Once (YOLOv11) based vision system supported by presence and motion sensors. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI), embedded systems and lighting control introduces a new path towards context-aware intelligent environments. The results of laboratory tests have confirmed the potential of the proposed solution, while further work is planned in real-world settings and broader deployment contexts.
