Towards the Automatic Production of OpenAPI Specifications from Source Code

This paper proposes a RESTful API for the management of RESTful services and serverless functions, offering publication, matching and selection capabilities over both functions and services. Further, this API offers two extra interesting capabilities: the automatic derivation of a RESTful service’s maturity level and the automatic generation of OpenAPI specifications from the source code of services and functions. Both capabilities are facilitated through the exploitation of Large Language Models (LLMs). In this paper, we analyse and experimentally evaluate the second capability. The evaluation results obtained seem promising, paving the way for further improving this capability in the near future.
