3D Immersive Sound Perception at the Stadttheater in Solothurn, Switzerland

The Stadttheater of Solothurn is a historic Swiss venue whose main hall was investigated through an in-situ acoustic survey. Standard room-acoustic metrics, derived following ISO 3382-1, were obtained together with directional information from a 64-channel spherical microphone array (Eigenmike em-64). Measurements were taken at a set of representative listening locations across the stalls and the two upper galleries. Graph-based summaries and directional acoustic maps reveal that the hall provides conditions suitable for spoken word and for musical performances.
