ViGiL: Software for the generation of realistic in silico ultrasound phantoms

Super-resolution ultrasound imaging (SRUI) is an imaging mode that aims to display microvascular dynamics and generate disease bio-markers. Development relies on in silico models. Vascular graphing describes the extraction of vascular image features from 3D images to create computational representations. Previous graphing techniques have been successful. However, these graphs require very high-resolution images, and lack both size and construction rigour to generate flow behaviour that can be tied to network changes. Here presented for the first time is a purpose-built software (ViGiL) for the generation of in silico ultrasound phantoms of pre- and post-diseased vasculature.
