Motorized Arecanut Harvester using RF-based Control Interface

Due to the increasing existence of modern technologies in the field of agriculture and due to urbanization and industrialization, there is an acute shortage of human arecanut tree climbers to harvest arecanuts and thereby increasing its demand. Motorized Arecanut Harvester is a device to pluck arecanuts which is driven and controlled by electric drives. This device is expected to solve all the problems associated with conventional harvesting methods and also with existing machines available. The device consists of mechanical frame which has an RF transmitter, and a control operation is done manually with the help of the user interface which has the RF transmitter, and the signal for climbing, position adjustment and cutting is given as radio frequency with the help of these RF modules. Arduino UNO is used for controlling the drives which helps to send the signal and accept the signal of the RF module in the case of receiver. The mechanical frame were controlled by climbing motors used for climbing, horizontal control channel controlled by horizontal control motor and cutter interface which is controlled by the cutter motor. The DC power to the Arduino and motor is given with the help of a DC battery of designed specifications. Thus, this device eliminates the issues and risks of manual harvesting, existing petrol engine models and other models still in use which require humans. This device can be easily operated for arecanut harvesting.
