Research and Experimental Analysis of Electromagnetic Pulse Welding Device Based on MCT Switch

This article focuses on an electromagnetic pulse welding device based on MCT switch. Electromagnetic pulse welding technology has outstanding advantages in modern manufacturing, especially in the field of dissimilar metal connections, which can overcome many difficulties of traditional welding. However, traditional welding devices have limitations, and MCT switches, as a new type of power electronic device, bring new opportunities for their optimization. The article elaborates on the design of an electromagnetic pulse welding device based on MCT switches, including the overall structure, pulse power supply, and welding coil design. In the experimental research section, the working characteristics and driving circuit of MCT switch were analyzed, and a testing circuit was designed to test its pulse discharge waveform. The discharge waveform data of the pre charging circuit and coils with different turns were obtained through experiments. The research results indicate that MCT switches have a good application prospect in electromagnetic pulse welding devices, which is expected to improve welding quality and efficiency, lay the foundation for the industrial application of this technology, and have important significance for promoting the development of electromagnetic pulse welding technology.
