Smart Greenhouse with IoT-Driven Roof Automation and Real-Time Plant Health Monitoring for Gardening

The increasing demand for sustainable and efficient gardening solutions has driven the integration of automation and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into greenhouse systems. This paper presents the development of a Smart Greenhouse prototype that features automated roof control and real-time plant health monitoring. The system is built around the Arduino Uno R4 Wi-Fi microcontroller and incorporates raindrop, humidity, and soil moisture sensors to monitor environmental parameters. Based on sensor feedback, a servo motor automatically adjusts the roof window to protect plants during rainfall, while a water pump activates irrigation when soil moisture falls below optimal levels. A mobile application provides real-time data visualization and enables remote control of the greenhouse functions. Preliminary testing demonstrates the system's ability to enhance plant care efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and promote sustainable gardening practices. The proposed solution offers a low-cost and scalable approach for home gardeners and small-scale agricultural setups.
