Artificial General Intelligence Is Nowhere Near, Artificial Specific Stupidity Is Already Here—Policy Implications [Industrial and Governmental Activities]

This article is not another screed about the hype cycle in AI. Indeed, many of the opportunities and risks of AI are underappreciated. For example, most of us are likely to benefit from AI advances in healthcare. This might generate far more than three Nobel prizes – perhaps hundreds! And the impact of AI on privacy has moved from risk to fact. But many claims about AI are exaggerated, and these distract from the actual risks and opportunities in the field.
