An Efficient Synergistic Analysis Model of Integrated PM Machines and Planetary Reducer Transmission System

Due to its inherent advantages such as high torque density, integrated PM motor planetary reducer transmission systems (TSs) are widely applied. However, analyzing such TSs poses a high-dimensional, multicoupled problem involving physical fields such as electromagnetic, temperature, and structural aspects. To significantly reduce design cycles and rapidly obtain optimal and demand-compliant TS solutions, this article proposes a novel universal and efficient collaborative analysis model. Adapting to diverse PM motor topologies across diverse industrial applications, the presented model features an enhanced Fourier-based nonlinear magnetic circuit composite methodology. Then, a lumped-parameter thermal analysis model for the entire TS is established to verify the components experiencing the most critical temperature rise. Meanwhile, the bending and contact strength calculations are performed on the most critically stressed sun gear based on the Hertzian contact stress principle. The efficacy of the proposed model was ultimately demonstrated via finite element analysis and prototype experiment implemented on a 55 kW PM motor planetary reducer TS.
