A Robust Key Management Technique for Defending Wireless Sensor Networks from Jamming Attacks

Despite the fact that Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are an essential component of IoT applications, they are becoming increasingly susceptible to by jammer attacks that interrupt connection and undermine data security. To support a powerful administration of keys strategy is offer to assist in the defence of WSNs from such forms of attack. To facilitate secure and convenient key transfers between the various sensor nodes in the network, the developed approach employs symmetrical key cryptography accompanied by a distributed trust management scheme. To ensure only original nodes are allowed to join into the network, confidence measures are established that dep on the behaviour and previous records of communication of nodes. This eliminates the chances of hacked nodes to affect the running of the network. It is designed to operate as easily within the constraints of the resources available in the WSNs as possible and to maintain low electrical consumption and processing requirements. In order to provide an adaptive protection against ever-evolving attack techniques, key updates become active either on a periodic basis or whenever abnormalities are discovered. The efficiency of the suggested method in mitigating jamming assaults while simultaneously providing safe interaction was shown by testing it on an actual-world network of sensors testbed and validating it via extensive simulations. The findings demonstrate that the method is capable of maintaining network efficiency and resiliency in the face of a variety of attack scenarios.
