Performance Evaluation of RISC-V Cloud Computing Cluster

Cloud computing has become an important component of modern IT infrastructure and typically relies on x86 or ARM architecture hardware to provide scalable and efficient cloud services. Currently, servers using x86 architecture are still the mainstream solution in the industry, while RISC-V, as an opensource instruction set architecture with advantages such as high scalability and low power consumption, has gradually become an alternative solution. In this paper, we constructed a cloud computing cluster based on RISC-V servers and conducted extensive performance evaluations of the cluster's CPU, memory and disk. By evaluated the performance of the RISC-V cluster in containerized environments, we assess the current state and potential of RISC-V architecture in cloud computing.
