Hybrid RSS/AOA Localization of Multiple Targets with Spatial Structure

Hybrid Received signal strength (RSS)/ Angle of Arrival (AOA) localization has extensively applied in localizing multiple targets, which combines the advantages of both AOA-only and RSS-only localization. However, for multiple targets with special spatial structures, most existing methods ignore the location related information in the structures. To achieve better localization accuracy, this paper proposes an SDP relaxation-based method, which stems from the maximum likelihood (ML) estimation and establish constraints of two cases of the targets' spatial structures, i.e., straight line case and circular case. Illustrative examples show that, by comparing with some existing methods, the proposed method provides better performance in terms of localization accuracy.
