A Unified Security Operations Center and Zero Trust Architecture Framework for Adaptive IoT Threat Mitigation

The expanding landscape of interconnected devices on the Internet of Things (IoT) presents significant security challenges, rendering traditional perimeter-based approaches insufficient. This paper proposes an integrated security framework leveraging principles of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Security Operations Centre (SOC) functions to enhance IoT security across diverse applications. The framework emphasizes eliminating implicit trust by implementing continuous authentication, micro-segmentation, and strict access controls. By incorporating real-time monitoring, data analytics, and automated incident response, the integrated system dynamically adapts to evolving threats and ensures robust protection of critical assets and data. This paper addresses implementation challenges such as scalability, interoperability, and resource constraints. This integrated approach offers an adaptive security paradigm applicable to a wide range of IoT deployments.
