IoT-Based Intelligent Cradle System for Automated Neonatal Care: Development, Implementation, and Clinical Insights

This study focuses on the design and implementation of an Automated Infant Cradle System based on IoT. It consists of an analysis of data collected from 150 smart cradles that were strategically installed in the NICUs of 5 different hospitals, and it shows how wireless technology and integration of sensors allow for real-time monitoring and improvement of the standard infant caring practices. The methodology includes collection of technical documentation, five visualization charts depicting key system components and performance indicators, and extensive statistical analysis of sensor systems primary performance parameters and system reliability. The "real world" usage IoT technology in neonatal care monitoring and compliance with medicine devices regulations– EU MDR, ISO 13485, as well as the clinician feedback offers tremendous insights into the advantages and the challenges IoT implementation poses.
