Indoor WiFi Signal Visualization Method Based Environmental Mapping and Heatmap Generation

Visualizing WiFi coverage is essential for identifying signal dead zones and optimizing network performance. This paper proposes an indoor WiFi signal visualization method based on environmental mapping and heatmap generation. Initially, the floor plan is reconstructed through scatterer point cloud processing to establish spatial reference coordinates. Subsequently, Kriging interpolation is applied to the digitized layout to generate continuous heatmaps. Simulation results demonstrate that high-precision heatmaps can be produced without prior knowledge of Access Point (AP) locations. This approach significantly reduces the reliance on Reference Points (RPs), enhances efficiency, and offers an innovative solution for indoor WiFi network optimization.
