Design and Implementation of an FPGA-Based Multi-Channel Video Processing System

With the rapid development of intelligent security, smart transportation, and other fields, there is an urgent demand for multi-channel video real-time processing systems to achieve high efficiency, low latency, and parallel processing capabilities. Aiming at the problems of low resource utilization and low data processing efficiency in the traditional single-channel video processing system, a multi-channel video parallel processing and real-time display system based on an FPGA hardware platform is proposed in this paper. The system uses the UniIC PGL50H FPGA development board as its core, collects multi-channel video data through HDMI input and OV5640 binocular camera, and employs the AXI protocol to achieve high-speed video data transmission and DDR3 memory management. The system accomplishes realtime multi-channel video processing, stitching, and display. This design is capable of processing four parallel channels of 720P@60fps video streams, performing operations such as scaling, grayscale conversion, and edge detection. The processed video streams are then stitched into a single $1080 \mathrm{P} \text{@} 30 \mathrm{fps}$ output and displayed on a terminal device.
