Application of the Mortar Method for Nonconformal Variable-Order Numerical Solutions of the Electric-Field Integral Equation on Curved Domains

The mortar method is applied with the method of moments to solve the Electric Field Integral Equation for electromagnetic scattering problems using nonconformal discretizations. The basic principle of the method is reviewed, and modifications are discussed to enable the use of basis sets containing different polynomial orders in different regions of the curved-cell, nonconformal meshes. Several canonical problems are simulated with varying degrees of geometric and solution order to demonstrate the approach. These nonconformal solutions were then compared to reference solutions to verify accuracy of the method.
