Research on Low Speed Power Boosting Technology for High Speed Maglev Trains

This paper introduces a method for using switched capacitors to enhance the system power of high-speed maglev trains operating under low-speed conditions. High-speed maglev trains generate electricity through the cogging effect to meet the power demand of the trains. In the low-speed operation condition, the voltage induced by the train is too low, so the traditional power supply method requires additional equipment for auxiliary power supply. Different from the traditional power supply method, the approach proposed in this paper can solve the problem of difficult power supply for high-speed maglev trains during low-speed operation. Firstly, the principle of power generation by the cogging effect of high-speed maglev trains is discussed, and then the factors affecting power supply are discussed. Then, based on the fundamental wave approximation model, switched capacitors are used to tune the circuit to increase the output power. Moreover, even under the condition of variable frequency, it can still track the circuit frequency and dynamically tune the circuit to enhance the circuit power. Finally, a simulation model is established on MATLAB/Simulink and experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
