An Active Current Sharing Strategy Based on Master-Slave Cooperative Control for paralleled SiC Power Modules

SiC MOSFETs offer high switching speeds and low power losses, which make them widely used in the power electronics with the requirements of higher power density and efficiency. Due to the limited current capacity of a single module, multiple modules should be connected in parallel to meet the demands of higher power applications. However, achieving effective current sharing remains a critical challenge. This paper presents a Master-Slave Cooperative Control Strategy to balance the current among parallelled SiC MOSFET modules in high-power applications. The strategy decouples the factors affecting dynamic current imbalance, specifically switching delay and current change rate, and automatically optimizes these parameters for the selected master module. This approach eliminates the excessive adjustment cycles associated with traditional dynamic master-slave control schemes that rely on a single master module for multi-parameter adjustments. The proposed Master-Slave Cooperative Control Strategy implements closed-loop current regulation to achieve current sharing between SiC power modules. The feasibility of the strategy is verified through simulations for theoretical verification.
