Research on Design and Implement of Microgrid Energy Management System

In this paper, a microgrid energy management system (MEMS) is designed to realize the flexible allocation and energy management of distributed energy devices. The smallest AC microgrid including photovoltaic, wind turbine, storage battery and diesel generator was taken as the research object, a microgrid energy management system based on high-performance embedded processor was designed and built.The operating state of the related equipment in the microgrid is obtained through the Modbus protocol, and the processor regularly executes the improved multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm to obtain the operation instructions for the given power or start and stop of each device. The hardware, real-time optimization algorithm, remote data visualization and human-computer interaction design of the microgrid energy management system are realized, and a centralized management solution is provided for the microgrid integration of distributed energy resources and energy storage. The system demonstrates three key innovations: (1) a novel implementation of improved MOPSO on embedded hardware, (2) real-time optimization with Modbus-TCP/IP hybrid communication, and (3) an integrated visualization interface for microgrid operation. Experimental results show 18.7% cost reduction compared to conventional dispatch methods.
