IoT-based Smart Solar Street Lighting System with Adaptive Brightness Control for Seasonal and Ambient Light Optimization

It is one of the common method that many cities are trying different ways to make their infrastructure more energy-efficient, and solar-powered street lighting. It can help by lower energy usage and is better for the environment. But most of the current systems turn lights on and off based on fixed times, without checking the environment is brighter outside during the year. This can lead to wasting power and battery energies faster, especially in India. So, this paper looks into building a smart lighting system using IoT that changes brightness and working hours depending on the actual light levels outside. It uses a sensor, a controller (ESP32), a clock, and connects to the cloud to monitor devices. It is tested under different lighting situations and it worked well, so that we can use less energy, and help the battery life longer. The system is simple, cost effective, and could be useful for smart city setups specially to make better street lighting.
