Color Image Encryption Using Rubik's Cube and Chaotic System

In order to better utilize the three-dimensional (3D) property of Rubik's cube, a color image encryption method based on Rubik's cube 3D space scrambling and chaotic system is proposed. The method generates chaotic pseudo-random sequences through a four-dimensional discrete chaotic system and integrates them. Then, through dynamically selecting the rotational axis, rotational layers and rotational angle of the Rubik's cube, the three channels $\mathrm{R}, \mathrm{G}$ and B of the plain image are discretized by Rubik's cube 3D space. Then, the XOR operation is performed with the discretized matrix and the chaotic matrix to obtain the encrypted images of the three channels R, G and B, and merge them to obtain the encrypted image. Simulation analysis shows that the method has a larger key space and stronger key sensitivity, and can effectively resist attacks.
