Autonomous Optical Navigation for Deep Space Approach Based on Light Aberration Correction

Aiming at the problem that the light aberration effect results in the state estimation error of autonomous optical navigation system during the approach phase of deep space exploration, an autonomous optical navigation method based on the correction of the light aberration angle is proposed to improve the accuracy of navigation estimation. Firstly, the principle of light aberration effect is analyzed and the formula of aberration angle calculation is deduced in detail. Then, the target celestial body position and the camera measurement model are modified by calculating the relative state of the spacecraft and the target celestial body, and combining the spacecraft attitude and the optical camera measurement model. Finally, the extended Kalman filter (EKF) is used to estimate the state of the navigation system with the dynamic model of the navigation system and the modified camera measurement model. The simulation results show that the method can correct the measurement error, and the estimation of the modified navigation filter has good convergence, which improves the estimation accuracy of the autonomous optical navigation system.
