Analysis of the Influence of Deck Motion on Radar Precision During Catapult Launch

In view of the problem that the aircraft carrier's motion during the catapult launch phase of carrier-based aircraft may affect the radar precision, thus affecting the safety of carrier-based aircraft take-off. This paper established a mathematical model for catapult launch, including the mathematical models of relevant coordinate systems, coordinate system transformation, aircraft carrier motion, and carrier-based aircraft. In the mathematical model of radar detection error, the attitude measurement error model of the aircraft carrier and the radar detection error model were constructed. In the inertial coordinate system, the ideal flight trajectory curve and the error flight trajectory curve of the carrier-based aircraft are compared and analyzed to deeply explore the differences between them. The research results showed that the pitching angle error of the aircraft carrier had a negligible impact on the radar accuracy during the catapult launch of carrier-based aircraft; the yaw angle error causes an error of approximately 0.5 m in the radar detection accuracy; the roll angle error causes an error of approximately 0.1 m in the radar detection accuracy; under the attitude coupling error of the aircraft carrier, the radar detection accuracy has errors of approximately 0.07 m in the y -axis direction and 0.216 m in the z -axis direction, and it has the greatest impact on the radar accuracy during the catapult launch of carrier-based aircraft.
