Infrared-Radar Compatible Stealth Metamaterial Based on Novel Lossy Layer and Dual-band FSS Layer

This paper proposes a multifunctional infrared-radar compatible stealth metamaterial with dual-band transmission windows, addressing the critical requirements of electromagnetic compatibility in modern electronic warfare systems. The hybrid architecture integrates a lossy layer with high metal proportion and dual-band frequency selective surface (FSS): The lossy layer exhibits broadband radar absorption (>85% in 3.6-6.4 GHz and 11.3-15.8 GHz) with low infrared emissivity (0.34), while the FSS facilitates dual-band signal transmission at 9.6 GHz (-0.35 dB) and 20.7 GHz (-1.54 dB). Operational principles are systematically analyzed through equivalent circuit modelling and parametric studies. Full-wave simulations have been conducted to ascertain the structure's capacity to concurrently achieve radar-infrared compatible stealth and dual-band electromagnetic transparency. In comparison with conventional designs, this work demonstrates superior compatibility between stealth performance and communication functionality, offering a practical solution for multispectral stealth platforms requiring in-band signal transmission.
