An analog baseband quadrature demodulator based on the MDACM for high-precision phase extraction

This paper presents the design and implementation of an analog demodulator for baseband quadrature signals based on the modified differentiate and cross-multiply technique (MDACM) algorithm principle. The analog demodulator takes advantage of high phase reconstruction sensitivity, linearity, noise robustness, and no phase ambiguity. Moreover, by leveraging analog circuits for differentiation, integration, and signal operations, the proposed demodulator achieves real-time performance and low power consumption and eliminates quantization errors. Experimental validation with quadrature baseband inputs shows high consistency between analog and digital demodulation, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the analog MDACM demodulator.
