Design of A Circularly Polarized Metantenna with Low Radar Cross Section

A circularly polarized metantenna array with low radar cross section (RCS) is proposed in this paper. The rectangular patch with square slots is both the radiator of the antenna and can be used to reduce the RCS of the antenna array. The simulation results show that the maximum gain of the proposed antenna array is 13.16 dBic at 8.8 GHz. For x-polarized and y-polarized normal incident waves, the proposed antenna array can achieve a monostatic RCS reduction of more than 7.1dB in the band of 8.5−19 GHz.
